Principles of Agriculture, Food, and Natural Resources 

1 credit

Grades 9-12

(Must be taken prior to enrolling in any other Agriculture class)

 

When you step foot into Principles of Ag, you will learn to be prepared for the future ahead of you for careers in plant systems, animal systems, and agricultural mechanics. You will even get the chance to work safely in the shop building projects.  You will develop leadership qualities unsurpassed by no other.  This is a fun-filled class that will provide knowledge to ensure the success of your FUTURE! 

 

 

 

Small Animal Care

1 credit

Grades 10-12

 

Small Animal Care will prepare students for careers in the field of animal science. The class explains and describes the importance of responsible small animal ownership. During this course, students learn the hazards associated with working in the small animal industry. The students evaluate current topics in animal rights and animal welfare. Also students learn the care and management requirements for a variety of small animals. Pupils will also examine career opportunities in small animal management, while learning employability characteristics for being a successful employee.



Veterinary Medicine

1 credit

Grades 11-12

 

Looking for a career in animal science? Well, this class offers a hands-on experience to veterinary practices related to both large and small animals.  To prepare you for success, this course supplies you with the skills and knowledge related to the workplace and the animals there.  We will cover treatment of injuries, digestive and reproductive systems as well as diagnosing illnesses.



Agricultural Mechanics and Metal Technologies

1 credit

Grades 10-12

 

This project-based course will prepare for you careers in agriculture structures, power and technical systems.   This class will cover employability skills and you will develop an improved supervised agriculture experience program.  We will cover properties of electricity, plumbing, carpentry and concrete.   We will focus on cold and hot metal techniques and metal merging techniques.



Ag Power Systems

1 credit

Grades 11-12

 

Start your engines!!!  Agricultural Power Systems is an active course desired for more mature high school students who are interested in agricultural power and technical systems. After this course you will have a basic knowledge of the inner workings of engines and how to generate power. Students will learn skills that will help them to be employed in the field of agriculture.  


                  

Equine Science

1/2 Credit

Grades 10-12

 

Do you like horses? Then this is the class for you! Equine Science will prepare you for careers in animal science and animal systems. You will develop knowledge and skills regarding career opportunities, entry requirements, and industry expectations through extensive projects.  The class will emphasize the selection of horses, nutrition, management of horses, compare and contrast industries, learn skills to be a good employee and experience all things related to agriculture, food and natural resources.
